Christians in Sport – look at this link Pray Play Say | Resources | Christians in Sport
If you have not heard of this organisation it is worth taking a moment to look at their website especially since right now there is felt to be a strong connection between sport and mental health and you might also feel, God. They have many interesting articles to look at and consider and are always looking for individuals to support this in a personal way. The prayer section is one area that we can continue to share. You can also sign up to receive prayers by email and much more.

This is a new project where we hope to provide resources for individuals who feel able to support others in prayer. Look for prayer booklets in Logierait Church.

Dear Friends,
In 2 Corinthians 4 v 8-9, Paul acknowledged that he was hard-pressed on every side but not crushed. Perplexed and struck down but not in despair. Persecuted but not abandoned. Why? Wonderfully, he goes on to say that we always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. We may feel similarly challenged today, so let us hold onto the hope of the gospel and pray for ourselves, one another, and those in the prayer diary, so that Jesus may be revealed to those who don’t know Him.

Sunday 1st November
Pray for Christian Coaches and Support Staff
As Covid-19 continues to impact lives, pray for coaching and support staff as they increasingly need to offer pastoral support to those in their care. Pray they may be wise and sensitive as they do this and pray for opportunities to point to the hope in Jesus Christ.
Monday 2nd November
Prayers for Financial Provision
At a time of financial uncertainty for many, please pray for others to have capacity to begin or increase regular giving to allow us to draw down the remaining 40% of the Big Match. We estimate 200 more monthly gifts are required.
Tuesday 3rd November
Prayers for Wales
Give thanks for partner churches and university groups across Wales. Pray for the staff team seeking to serve and support churches and university group leaders during the national firebreak lockdown. Pray they find creative ways to encourage church and university group members to stay connected with sports friends during this period.
Wednesday 4th November
Pray for evangelistic opportunities for students
Pray that in the run-up to Christmas, students would be intentional in engaging their sports friends with the good news of Jesus, whether through Dialogue Dinners (discussion about the Christian faith over a meal) to by inviting friends to one of the many Christian events (online or in-person).
Thursday 5th November
Pray for Young Performance Athletes (YPAs)
Thank God for the regular zoom group calls for 15-17 and 18-23 year olds as well as one for parents and guardians. Praise God for relationships being built through these.
Pray for open doors into places where we don’t currently have a presence, for example; sports academies, performance centres, and schools that focus on sport.
Friday 6th November
Pray for the Development of Resources
Pray for wisdom and creativity for the media team to find engaging, innovative ways to connect with those who don’t yet know Christ. Pray for the development of useful resources for Christian sportspeople, young and old, to help them live and speak for Jesus in the world of sport.
Saturday 7th November
Pray for the UK Interns
Give thanks that the 10 interns have had the opportunity to shadow senior staff once a month to get a greater understanding of the breadth of the work. Pray as they grow in practical skills, that this will also be reflected in their faith and reliance in Him.
