Quilting Group

The GLS Quilting Group are a group of eight ladies who meet on the 2^nd and 4^th Tuesday of each month (except 4^th Tues. in Dec. and 2^nd Tues. in Jan.) from 7.00 to 9.00 pm, in the John Kyd Hall at Strathtay Church.

They follow a syllabus starting on the 4^th Tues. in September working through to the following August culminating in taking part in the church’s fundraising gallery under the auspices of the Perthshire Open Studios, in the first week in September.

This allows members to learn new processes, take part in a group challenge, as well as working on their own projects and making quilts for Linus UK for children who need a hug. Total to date is 30 quilts donated.

There is always plenty of discussion and sharing of ideas. Visits to quilt shows at Ingilston and the SECC Glasgow are inspirational. They also provide the chance to buy fabrics and related supplies to compliment the fabric, which we have kindly been donated.

New members, beginners or experienced, and visitors are always welcome.
